The Things Our Children Say...

I need to post funny things that our children say on here more often so I'll always have a place to go back to. After the football game tonight we came home and were getting ready for bed. Austin asked me to turn the fan on but then later got cold. Before he fell asleep he became cold. I couldn't turn it off for him as i was feeding Amelia and he started crying saying he was freezing. He keep crying and then said I'm going to turn into a Popsicle. Couldn't help but laugh. Love the things he says these days.

I Hope I Remember...

Beware this post is coming from a momma whose got emotions running crazy. Haha! I hope I remember these moments we experience on the simplest of days and nights.

Moment One- going out with Amelia and everyone looking and smiling because she's the cutest baby around and usually greets people with her contagious smile.

Moment Two- my boys giving me hugs and kisses before they go out for errands with daddy

Moment Three- calling in to check on the outing my boys are on and hearing Austin get excited through the phone about clothes daddy is showing him and buying him for school

Moment Four- Hunter seeing a bobo on my toe and asking if it needs a kiss and then kissing it to make it all better

Moment Five- going to dinner just us and sitting across from the man I love more than anything and looking at our three blessings and feeling overwhelmingly blessed

Moment Six- being proud parents for getting compliments from strangers about our three children and how well behaved they are

Moment Seven- Austin requesting to have his prayer book to "read" on his own after tucking him in and later checking on him and see he's fallen asleep curled up with his book.

It's on these simple days I feel the most blessed. I can't imagine my life without these four blessings God has brought into my life and shown me what it means to love. Thank you doesn't seem like enough but maybe if I continue to say thank you daily like I do He will understand.

The Lord's Prayer

We've started something new with the boys at night. For about a week we've truly had a bedtime routine. We do bath and right afterwards we read books in their bed. Then we kneel at the end of their bed and say our prayers. The past few days we've tried to teach the boys the Lords prayer. We've only had them repeat after us the first line as its a long prayer to learn. So sweet moment that melted my heart this morning...

Austin asks- Mom why did you go to someone's house last night?
Me- We were praying. (Knowing if I said for bible study he wouldn't understand.)
Austin- I can do that all by myself.
Me- You can?
Austin- Yes. Our Father. Now you say it mom.

Shadow Puppets at Bedtime

Tonight while laying with Austin in bed I reached over to get him a sip of water he requested. I couldn't help but notice that he was fascinated with the shadow it was making on the ceiling as I had the flashlight app open on my phone. So instead of ignoring the moment I ran with it and am so glad I did. I pretended to be a talking "snake" or "alligator". It was so fun to see Austin just watch in amazement. We both were laughing when I pretended to be getting hit by the fan blades on the ceiling. Haha! It was a simple moment tonight in bed but one I will remember. I love getting to watch the new discoveries with my children and be a kid with them.

Note to Self

Note to self: I can't write a blog post every day :( Well I have not been doing our daily blog of our life guess I should have known it wouldn't last long. Makes me sad but also is a reminder that life is crazy busy right now. Having three children to take care of, play with, and love can most days be exhausting but every day is a blessing! I'm so glad I get to be their mommy.

Note to self: you don't want to guess what sound that is you hear when your two little boys are playing and laughing and you hear an unfamiliar sound. Why? It might just be that they are fishing with the bathtub fishing pole in the toilet. Yuck!!

Note to self: we are blessed with three amazing children!!

As they grow so do their imaginations. Austin and Hunter have spotted a skunk in our house...

Brothers enjoying their ice cream truck treat...

Amelia napping...

Amelia is 8 weeks old. Really? Already?!
