New Tricks!

It is amazing how quickly Austin is changing these days.  It seems like everything is happening all at once.  Now let me first say we are still not walking but everything else is "clicking" in Austin's head as he is figuring out his world more everyday.  He know how his PROUD smile as I like to call it that he does when he stacks his blocks or does anything else he is proud of.  It is funny because I brought a picture of him to work before school got out and told my class about it and when their parents came for the ice cream party you could hear them say that is his proud smile.  So cute!  Austin also know after he goes potty in his diaper if you say, "Do you want a clean diaper?" will crawl to the bathroom.  (Could this mean we might be an early potty trainer?  Let's cross our fingers.  As long as we are potty trained by 3!)  Also if he is sleepy and you say, "Do you want to take a nap?" will crawl to his bedroom.  I am not sure what we have done but Austin truly has been an amazing kid and continues to blow us away and make us laugh.  We are so excited about the summer and watching him continue to learn about his world.  Watch out world...here Austin comes!! I am also attaching the photo of his "proud" smile.  I forgot to say that he also does it sometimes when he knows he is being a ham.  He is such a funny guy!

Austin Loves to be Outside!

I am so sorry that it has taken me once again over a month to post recent pictures and updates of little man.  I am hoping that when we are out for the summer I will be better about updating our blog.  This past weekend we spent Memorial Day at our friends lake house on Lake Conroe and Austin loved it.  He got to play with his buddy Chance.  We spent A LOT of time outside which Austin loved and we even got to swim in the pool.  I have to say that I think the vacation we are going on at the beginning of June will be a blast for little man!  The pictures are from our weekend at the lake house.

Our "baby" is ONE!!

Austin's first football pose.
Austin's ONE YEAR football pose.  What a difference a year makes?
It is so hard to believe that 12 months ago Austin was born.  I made it through the day without crying but can really only thank Austin for that.  The thought that Austin is growing up is sad because he is not a "baby" any more but Austin has truly been such a blast and made us laugh so much that all the memories I have are happy wonderful memories which just leaves a smile on my face when I think about him and the year we have had together.  It is so funny how someone so small can change your life in such a dramatic way.  I remember talking to friends when we brought him home and not being able to put into words what it is like being a mom.  The LOVE that you have for your child is something that can not be put into words.  I remember immediately after he was born feeling like he had always been there and our son.  Is that weird?  It is like instantly there is this person that you have been waiting for, talking about, and dreaming about right in front of you and everything just falls into place and feels so right.  I will never be able to explain the feelings I have about being a mom and I will always have Austin to thank for that.  I think if I were to talk about what it means to me to be a mom that would make me cry.  Haha.  I have attached a video I made of photos of his first year (the video was supposed to be in the background at his birthday party but I could not get it to work, luckily it was able to be downloaded onto our blog).  Thank you Austin for changing mommy and daddy's lives and redefining the meaning of LOVE.  We love you so much and are looking forward to many more memories and watching you grow!  Happy Birthday Austin!

Cutest Boy in the World

If this face is not the cutest face in the world I don't know what is.  I think most people would agree with me though because Saturday night David and I took Austin with us to go rent some movies and out to eat for some Mexican food and people approached us in both places and said that he was so cute.  Sunday we were out to eat with my parents at Denny's for breakfast and again people just loved him.  What can we say...he gets his looks from his mom and dad!  Haha.

Boys will be Boys

I must say that Austin is truly becoming a boy and is not a baby anymore.  He will now get into anything and everything.  He is so fun to just sit and watch because he really has an imagination.  Well his new tricks this week were learning how to crawl out the doggy door and squeezing into the squares on the bookshelf.  Austin has always been one that loves to be outside.  When he was a baby if he was crying we could take him outside and he would almost instantly stop.  Well earlier this week Austin was watching the dogs go in and out of the doggy door like he normally does but he really seemed to be watching and this time thinking to himself.  "It's not fair that the dogs get to go outside whenever they want.  I think I want to be able to do that."  And not but maybe five minutes later was he crawling out the doggy door and then exploring our back porch and deck.  He this weekend discovered the squares on the bookshelf when one of his balls went through one of the squares and he needed to get it.  It is like if David take our eyes off of him for two seconds he has gotten into something new.  Haha.  Austin is becoming such a fun kid and he truly makes David and I's lives filled with laughter.
